Get ready to journey into tomorrow! From April 13th to October 13th, 2025, the world will converge at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, under the powerful theme of "Designing Future Society for Our Lives." From desert dreams to sakura skies, Saathi is proud to be part of this transformative event, sharing our vision for a future where periods are kind to women and the planet.Â
Expo 2025 is more than just an exhibition; it's a dynamic platform where ideas meet action, and global challenges are met with creative solutions. We're excited to contribute our unique perspective to this vital global conversation.Â
The World Expo: A Global Stage for Progress
World Expos, also known as World's Fairs or Universal Expositions, are major international events with a history of over 170 years, serving as pivotal moments for nations to showcase their achievements, cutting-edge innovations, and cultural identities since the first Expo in London in 1851.
Think of the iconic Eiffel Tower, a symbol of Paris, or the telephone, a revolution in communication â both were introduced to the world at Expos! At their core, Expos are about global collaboration. They bring together countries, organizations, and individuals to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and work together towards solutions for the world's most pressing challenges. Each Expo focuses on a specific theme, reflecting the key issues and aspirations of its time.Â
Expo 2025: Your Passport to a Sustainable Future
Expo 2025 will take place on the artificial island of Yumeshima (âDream Islandâ) in Osaka Bay, Japan. It was originally a waste disposal site using materials like construction debris and dredged sand. To reduce emissions, thereâs no car access to the island, instead, it is connected to Osaka city via the Osaka Metro Chuo Line. The overarching theme is "Designing Future Society for Our Lives," with three key sub-themes:
- Saving Lives: Prioritizing health, safety, and well-being for all.
- Empowering Lives: Fostering individual growth, potential, and quality of life.
- Connecting Lives: Building stronger communities through communication and collaboration.
Imagine a vibrant, interactive showcase where nations present their visions for tomorrow, visitors engage with cutting-edge technologies, and thought-provoking dialogues ignite new ideas. Expo 2025 promises an immersive experience, offering a glimpse into the boundless possibilities of the future.
Sustainability at Its Core: Expo 2025's Green Blueprint
Sustainability isn't just a trend at Expo 2025; it's woven into the very fabric of the event. The Expo is explicitly designed to contribute to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), serving as a crucial catalyst for accelerating global action towards the 2030 deadline.
The Expo is guided by their Sustainability Policy and the EXPO 2025 Green Vision, with targets including Carbon Neutrality and a robust circular economy. The Expo is the "People's Living Lab," which means itâs a dynamic, real-world space where green practices are actively tested and experienced. The goal is to provide a starting point for visitors to live more fully, enjoyably, and healthily and understand how they might shape the future. Â Â

From Dubai to Osaka: One Saathi. One Mission.
Our path to Expo 2025 has been a journey of growth and dedication, fueled by our commitment to developing groundbreaking solutions. Along the way, we've reached milestones that have shaped our approach and strengthened our resolve.
At Expo 2020 Dubai, Saathi was recognized as Global Innovator, showcased in the India Pavilion with support from Government of India, and featured in the Womenâs Pavilion with support from the Cartier Womenâs Initiative. That experience was incredibly valuable, allowing us to share our vision for sustainable menstrual health internationally.Â
Building upon that experience, we've also been honored with recognition such as the 2022 Nikkei Asia Award, 2022 Asia Society Game Changer Award and 2024 World Finance Carbon Awards for Best Company for Carbon Reduction in the Feminine Hygiene Products Industry. Our work was also featured in NHKâs Direct Talk program. These recognitions are a testament to our ongoing efforts to minimize our environmental footprint and create products that are both effective and eco-conscious. It validates our belief that sustainability and impact arenât just buzzwords; they are core principles that must guide every aspect of our work.
We also advocated for more awareness about menstrual health, period poverty and sustainable menstrual products at CSW, the UN, and the WHO. We provided eco-friendly menstrual products at large scale events such as Women Deliver and Coldplayâs largest concert ever in Ahmedabad. We're grateful to our team, supporters, and partners for helping us reach this incredible opportunity.
The Power of Plant-Based: Sustainable Periods for a Healthier World
At the heart of Saathi is our commitment to providing earth-friendly and biodegradable sanitary pads crafted from renewable banana and bamboo fibers. This offers an eco-friendly alternative to conventional pads, significantly reducing plastic waste while also being highly absorbent and gentle for women's health.
At Expo 2025, we're demonstrating how earth-friendly solutions empower women and create a healthier planet. We aim to break the cycle of harmful waste and ensure dignified, environmentally responsible menstrual hygiene.
Our work connects with the Expo's sub-themes:
- Saving Lives & Health and Well-being: Saathi provides access to safe and sustainable products.
- Empowering Lives: We employ an all-women team in our manufacturing and distribution.
-
Sustainability: Our materials and practices align with the Expoâs emphasis on a more eco-responsible future.
Saathi at Expo 2025: Discover Our Sustainable Solutions
Saathi will be featured for the duration of the Expo at the Future Life Village in the Best Practice showcase. This is a tremendous honor, as it recognizes our work as an innovative and impactful solution to a global challenge.
At our showcase, you can expect to see the unique properties of our pads, highlighting their biodegradability, and explaining how they benefit both women and the environment. We'll also be sharing stories that illustrate the positive impact we're having on communities and the planet.
Beyond our showcase, we're excited to participate in various events during the Expo, seeking new partnerships to amplify the reach and impact of our planet-friendly sanitary pads. We believe that collaboration is key to achieving a truly sustainable future, and we're eager to connect with like-minded individuals and organizations.
