World Expos, also known as World's Fairs or Universal Expositions, are major international events with a history of over 170 years, serving as pivotal moments for nations to showcase their achievements, cutting-edge innovations, and cultural identities since the first Expo in London in 1851.
Think of the iconic Eiffel Tower, a symbol of Paris, or the telephone, a revolution in communication – both were introduced to the world at Expos! At their core, Expos are about global collaboration. Expo 2025 will take place on the artificial island of Yumeshima (“Dream Island”) in Osaka Bay, Japan. It was originally a waste disposal site using materials like construction debris and dredged sand. To reduce emissions, there’s no car access to the island, instead, it is connected to Osaka city via the Osaka Metro Chuo Line. The overarching theme is "Designing Future Society for Our Lives," with three key sub-themes:

It uses timber from Fukushima, symbolizing resilience and recovery.
2. Japan Pavilion's On-Site Biogas Plant: Circular Economy in Action: Witness a fascinating demonstration of circularity at the Japan Pavilion. The on-site biogas plant actively converts organic waste generated within the Expo into biogas to help power the pavilion. If you’re going to Osaka, don’t forget to book your ticket in advance. If you’re going for 1 day or multiple days there are different pass options. They also have options for the first half and second half of the Expo as well. If you’re going with a group of more than 15 people there are special options. 

Here's how you can participate (Please check the Expo site for most updated information):

• Register for an ExpoID: Before purchasing tickets, you need to register for an ExpoID.
• Purchase Tickets: Once you have an ExpoID, you can purchase tickets here
• Book Your Date and Time: After purchasing your ticket, you need to make a reservation for the date and time of your visit.
• Enter the lottery for special events and pavilions.
